Liverpool sign Robbie Keane from Spurs
Liverpool have signed striker Robbie Keane from Premier League rivals Tottenham on a four-year deal, a statement on the Anfield club's website said on Monday. The Republic of Ireland striker underwent a medical at Liverpool's Melwood training ground on Monday and the 28-year-old was then given the all-clear to move to Anfield for a fee of £19-million, rising to £20,3-million dependent on bonuses.

Liverpool - Wisla 1:1 Friendly
Liverpool have drawn 1-1 with Wisla Kraków in their pre-season friendly in Fribourg, Switzerland on Saturday evening. Liverpool skipper Steven Gerrard missed the match after returning to Melwood to receive treatment on a slight groin injury., while Italian international Andrea Dossena made his Liverpool debut after his summer move from Udinese. The game started at a decent pace, with Rafa Benitez’s less experienced starting line-up facing a full strength Wisla Kraków side. Andriy Voronin scored the opener in the 6th minute, latching on to a cross from Yossi Benayoun and striking it from 5 yards, but straight at the Wisla keeper Mariusz Pawełek, with Voronin smashing home his second attempt to make it 1-0 and scoring his second goal of The Reds' pre-season matches. The Polish champions weren’t disheartened by Liverpool’s early goal and equalised in the 12th minute with a beautifully crafted counter-attack, finished off by Tomáš Jirsák who picked up the ball on the edge of the six-yard box and tucked it past Cavalieri in the Liverpool goal to make it 1-1. Voronin had a chance to retake the lead halfway through the first-half, but his shot was saved well by Pawełek, who managed to get the slightest of touches to push the ball away from his far post. Rafał Boguski had a decent attempt deflected away from goal by Jamie Carragher soon after, as some of Liverpool’s less experienced players struggled to defend Wisla’s penetrating runs and crosses. Wisla Kraków had an attempt ricochet off the post with eight minutes left of the first-half. Liverpool had two attacks halted by the offside flag as Ryan Babel began to find space on the wing, but the game went into half-time 1-1, with both sides having had chances, but with the Poles looking the sharper of the two sides. The second-half saw a host of changes by Liverpool, with Reds boss Benitez making six changes to the side, which took time to settle down. Yossi Benayoun almost gave Liverpool the lead just before the hour mark, but his sliding shot from a pinpoint cross from Fabio Aurelio was slowed by the keeper, with the ball cleared off the line by Arkadiusz Głowacki. The remaining Liverpool substitutes all made an appearance before the end of the match, with Dirk Kuyt, Jermaine Pennant and Dani Pacheco all getting a run-out. The game finished at a far slower pace than the first half, despite the host of changes made from both sides in the second period. The match finished 1-1, with Liverpool having been tested at times by Wisla, who will also feel confident with the result as they prepare to kick-off their 2008/09 season in Poland next week. Liverpool Team: Cavalieri (Martin, 71), Darby (Hobbs, 71), Dossena (Insua, 63), Agger (Hyypia, 46), Carragher (Skrtel, 46), Plessis (Mascherano, 46), Lucas (Spearing, 46), Leto (Aurelio, 46), Benayoun (Pacheco, 63), Babel (Pennant, 46), Voronin (Kuyt, 71).
